• Search your notes by the words in their titles, summaries, Notepads and transcripts, best match first
• Read a note's transcript, AI summary, or what you wrote in its Notepad
• Find to-dos by deadline, priority, assignment, keyword, or project label, and add or update them
• Get short-lived audio or requested note-photo links
• Discover connected Google Calendar meetings and prepare from notes you have explicitly associated with earlier meetings in the series

The assistant sees notes that have synced to your account. Search ranks notes by the words in their titles, summaries, Notepads and transcripts. For a recap it can read the summary; for an exact quote it can read timestamped transcript passages. Task completion and assignment come from your saved to-dos. What you wrote in the Notepad remains distinct from what was spoken and from AI summaries. The assistant reads photos only when needed and when its client supports images.

Try “Find the discussion about the release plan,” “What did we agree to do in that meeting?”, “What did I write down?”, “Which of my open tasks are due this week?” or “Mark that follow-up task as completed.” Audio links expire and are separate from shared note links.

ChatGPT has no install link that fills in the address, so copy the server address above and add it by hand:

1. Open ChatGPT Plugins, select +, then Add custom MCP server.
2. Name it Oak Note and paste the server address under Connection, including the /mcp path.
3. Choose OAuth for authentication, read the risk warning and select I understand and want to continue.
4. Select Create as a plugin, check the Oak Note tools it lists, then install the plugin from your plugins.
5. Sign in to Oak Note and allow access when the browser asks.

Free accounts may not have Add custom MCP server. On a Business or Enterprise workspace, an admin may need to let members create custom MCP servers first.

Add --json for machine-readable output, --no-open on a machine with no browser, and oaknote logout to revoke access.

Calendar preparation uses your connected Google Calendar and only notes you have explicitly associated with earlier meetings. An invitation does not prove attendance, and an empty pre-read does not mean there were no previous meetings. The assistant can set or remove a note's association when you request it. Calendar titles are read on demand; Oak stores only the association's opaque identity and verification metadata. Disconnecting Calendar removes those associations.
